Women with Initiatives, Inc. (WWI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Germantown, Maryland, founded on a simple yet powerful belief: where opportunity meets purpose, women rise, children are educated, and communities thrive.
Our journey began with heartfelt conversations with girls in Liberia, West Africa—bright, hopeful children who could not attend school due to financial hardship. Those moments revealed a deeper truth: lasting change requires more than temporary aid. It requires opportunity, dignity, and empowerment.
Our Mission
We serve marginalized women and children in underserved communities across North America, the Caribbean, and Africa, focusing on:
Empowering Women through skills training and entrepreneurship
Educating Children through need-based K-12 scholarships
Path to Prosperity
Our flagship Path to Prosperity (P2P) program provides accelerated vocational training in areas such as pastry arts, sewing, soap making, and other marketable skills. Implemented in partnership with local organizations in Liberia, P2P equips women with the tools to start small businesses, achieve economic self-reliance, and support their families with confidence and pride.
Each year, we sponsor 25 women in vocational programs, with a long-term goal of empowering 250 women across three continents. Because stronger women build stronger communities.
Education Changes Everything
Through our need-based K-12 scholarship program, WWI sponsors children living in extreme poverty—many of whom are orphans or from single-parent households. In partnership with Sofina School in Monrovia, Liberia, we provide access to education that opens doors to brighter futures.

WWI is led entirely by women volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds who are united by a shared commitment to service. Nearly all our efforts are directed toward fundraising to support life-changing programs, made possible through memberships, sponsorships, donations, and community support.
Our Impact So Far:
Graduated 45 women from vocational training programs
Awarded 30 K-12 need-based annual scholarships to children since 2022
Provided annual feminine hygiene kits, clothing, meals, and medical supplies to 100 teanage girls since 2021
